Once a lively center for sardine preservation in Colera, Casa Salazón was a space where local craftsmen worked hand-in-hand to prepare fish for markets in nearby Girona and Barcelona.
During the early 1900s, this cooperative model thrived even amidst resource limitations.
Artisans constructed essential facilities—including factories, warehouses, and wineries—with straightforward yet effective building techniques.
The original Casa Salazón stands as a testament to this approach, showcasing local stone and ceramics that reflect the emphasis on practicality and function.
Restoration Challenges and Solutions
